Breakfast with Pets!

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

The Cyan/PDX lobby was bursting at the seems this morning with furry friends and hungry owners at the Cyan Paws Breakfast with Pets. Lexi Dog of Portland was kind enough to donate treats for the pups (and cat!) while Cyan/PDX residents mingled and munched on muffins and fruit.

If you’re a pet owner and want to connect with other animal lovers in the building, head to Cyan Paws to register your pet and connect! Looking for more Cyan/PDX events? Follow us on twitter.com/cyanpdx and keep coming back here for the latest updates.

Thank you to everyone who made our first Breakfast with Pets event a success!

Buddha Bites–A Cyan/PDX Favorite

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Looking for a great lunch spot in the area? Head to Buddha Bites just up the street on SW 4th & Hall for mouth-watering plates. Buddha Bites prides itself on offering seasonal, local, organic choices for their Portland customers, making them (and their tasty sandwiches) a favorite in the Cyan/PDX office. As if their BLT and veggie melt weren’t enough, Buddha Bites brews their own chai tea!

Since there are so many Bites to choose from, Cyan/PDX is going to help out. This week, we’re full-heartedly behind the Grilled Club–great with either homemade Naan bread or gluten-free bread.

Head to http://buddhabitespdx.blogspot.com/ for their full menu, catering options, and more!

NW Businesses & Climate Change Legislation

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

A handful of northwest businesses urged congress this week to approve comprehensive climate legislation, citing it as an opportunity to jumpstart thousands of jobs and support a healthier environment.

Mark Edlen,  a managing principal of Gerding Edlen, said a combination of extended tax credits and other incentives could produce thousands of jobs. In Portland alone, perhaps half of 75 million square feet of commercial office space needs to be retrofitted with efficient electrical, water and sewage systems, he said.

He proposed increasing the gas tax and dedicating a portion of it to energy efficiency projects, saying there is “a generation’s worth of work” for laborers, electricians, architects, engineers and those who arrange financing for such projects.

1859’s Take on Green Living in OR

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

On top of sharing some great crab recipes and local getaways, 1859’s Winter Adventure Issue highlights homes focused on “sustainable design and low-impact living” in Oregon.

As if that wasn’t enough to excite Cyan/PDX, the issue introduces readers to artist and physicist, Julian Voss-Andreae and his incredible (and almost disappearing) Quantum Man. Grab the next issue you see!
