Cookin’ It Up @ Cyan/Pdx!!!

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Yesterday evening I cooked my very first meal in my new home; bacon, eggs and toast! It was fitting since this meal was for my mother who has cooked for me in her home for many years.  I read the manual for the oven since I have not taken the time to buy a toaster and was surprised to learn that my AEG oven will defrost, grill and has so many other skills. While I was only cooking breakfast food, I love to explore and cook different things so it’s nice to know that my energy efficient appliances can keep up!DSC_2401 When I was done, I used my environment-friendly spray to wipe down the stove top for another day!

masterbacon

A Portland bacon cook-off is coming to the Davis Street Tavern this Saturday. It’s open for the public to enter and enjoy bacon dishes from 1-4pm. From their announcement:

Have you ever wanted to get together with a bunch of other bacon geeks and just geek out about bacon? What if there was an event specifically catered to bacon geeks to be able to share their favorite bacon treats with the world? Wouldn’t it make sense to make it a competition complete with trophy and prizes? Of course it would.

Masterbacon is just such an event.
