Vancouver, Canada is expected to formally announce the million-dollar creation of 30 so-called “micro-lofts” on the Downtown East side. This is one of many developments around the world, including the Cyan/PDX, that has drawn inspiration from European and Asian design.
At approximately 270 sq. ft. — about the size of two municipal parking spaces — the market rental units will be the smallest in the city.
Beautiful design in small efficient spaces is the future of downtown living and is available here in PDX at the Cyan.

Along with our Summer Cinema Series, we will also be hosting croquet in the garden and combination scavenger hunt. This Friday our croquet game starts at 6pm in the community garden at Cyan/Pdx! Bring something to use as a mallet and a ball! We will be giving prizes for the best costume, outfit and most stamps collected in the hunt. So get out that purple wig from two Halloween’s ago and let’s get this party started! We’ re located at 1720 SW 4TH Ave. so grab your friends and your wig and come down for an evening of community living!
We wanted to take a moment to check in and remind everyone of the fantastic yoga services being offered here at the Cyan. Chelsie Pfau, our live-in yoga instructor, continues to lead daily yoga classes here in the building as well as outside in the courtyard on sunny days.
Classes are open to Cyan residents and have a drop-in rate of $10 but for a limited time, we’re offering a monthly unlimited resident pass for only $50. Remove the clutter from your mind and lean out your bod just in time for swimsuit season!

While there’s been some great interest and participation thus far, we wanted to make sure that the weekly class schedule remains conducive to all those interested, so we’ve updated the schedule with the addition of two lunchtime class during the week. Here’s the new schedule:
Monday 5:30 to 6:30pm
Tuesday 12:15 to 1pm
Wednesday 6:30 to 7:30pm
Thursday 12:15 to 1pm
Saturday 9:30 to 11am (45 min bridge run then 45 min yoga)
If you’d like to make any other scheduling suggestions please feel free to email Chelsie directly at chelsiepfau@yahoo.com.
Look forward to seeing both seasoned as well as you brand new yogi’s out there!
Namaste!!

A huge thank you to Cyan resident David Boicourt for taking these awesome aerial shots of the Grand opening party! Thanks again to all who attended.

I decided to make Pho as my first official home-cooked meal at Cyan/pdx. Coming from an 1100 sq ft apartment with a gas range to 600 sq feet at Cyan and an electric cook top, I decided to put my new digs to the ultimate test. For those of you that don’t know, Pho is a Vietnamese beef broth noodle soup. When made from scratch, it requires lengthy preparation and a minimum three hours of cook time. The broth consists of a large spice packet, 6 quarts of water and 5 lbs of beef bones. My earliest attempts at making Pho took up every inch of counter space in my previous apartment. Yes, it was messy.
My first attempt at Cyan/pdx was surprisingly flawless. Maybe it was my extra awareness of the new space or my perfected skillz. Nonetheless, I can say the new space made me plan better and everything seemed a lot more accessible. This concept leaked into all aspects of my new lifestyle at Cyan: I plan my days more, I’m inside less and everything I own has a place! Even the 10 quart pot fit in the fridge!
We’d like to send out a warm thank you to Brian Libby for his fabulous article! Check it out!

Thanks Randy White!
