How cool is this idea? Students taking the initiative to start a bar in order to raise money for reforestation of Mt. Kilimanjaro! Every time you buy a drink, they buy a sapling from an NGO.
People come up with all sorts of ways to raise funds for the environment. In the case of two university students at Kwansei Gakuin University, they are doing so by running a bar in the center of the business district in Nishi Ward, Osaka, aiming to raise money for forestation on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

At the Lohas Packers cafe-bar on the third floor of a fashionable building, customers do their part by buying a drink. For each drink they order, the bar buys a sapling from a nongovernmental organization that will be planted on the iconic African mountain.
“We call on our customers to think about an eco-friendly life with drinks in their hands here,” said one of the two owners, Yasuhiro Mano, 24, of Suita, Osaka Prefecture.
